Found a killer location yesterday! I had 2 of my girls with me and they gladly helped me with some test shots. Who doesn't want a huge field to run in, right? Unfortunately, the storm was moving in fast and the light changed quickly from bright and sunny, to cloudy, dark and windy (as you can see from the different exposures in the images from one child to another, and the clouds changing). Can't wait to find opportunity to shoot as session or two here. The owners were kind enough to allow me to do this, as long as the hay isn't too long. The dandelions were perfect!
When you look at these images, doesn't it just take you back to your childhood and make you long for the freedom and wonder we all once had? Enjoy!
Brothers - Child Photographer Hardwick Vermont
These brothers were in my studio today. My kids were thrilled to have some playmates for the hour or so they were here. Lots of funny faces were made behind my head to get some smiles. Having my kids at my shoots can be great for things like that, and for holding reflectors and fetching toys for little ones (like tennis balls). :o)
Love these sweet smiles I caught and the fun time we were able to spend together today. Enjoy!

Princess - Child Photographer Hardwick VT
Is there anything cuter than a red headed, freckle faced princess? Here's another shot of my friend Amy's little girl I took earlier this year when there was green grass and a nice breeze blowing. We had just had a girls lunch at a historic Vermont lodge nearby, and miss E wore her princess gown. Most appropriate. I love this child! :o)

Before and After - Child Photographer Hardwick Vermont
Sometimes a simple snap shop turns into a most beautiful portrait! That was the case with these little beauties. My dear friend Amy invited me over to see their new baby bunnies a few months ago, so I brought my camera along. This is her lovely little red head holding one of them. The light is always gorgeous in this house! I hadn't planned on doing any serious portraits. Just some snaps for a friend. So, I didn't bother with a custom white balance, cleaning faces, moving hair out of the eyes, or moving distracting background elements out of the way.
Here is a before and after. The before is pretty much straight out of the camera (SOOC), except for the crop. Since it was "just a snap shot" it required a little more work in post processing than an image that was intended to be a portrait from the beginning. But it turned out lovely, and will make a beautiful wall portrait in their lovely home.

Angel Sneak Peak - Child Photographer Montpelier, Vermont
Here's a little sneak peak of a Valentine's Day Petite Mini I did yesterday. This little angel's mommy brought these wings in for their session. What a little sweetheart he is! More to come....

Vermont Snowfall - Family Photographer Hardwick Vermont
The snow was falling so slow and beautifully this particular morning. So I grabbed my camera and stuck one foot out the door, and shot some photos. I'm allergic to snow, but I think it's realy perty. *wink*
